- This 2-hour free continuing education on cultural competency training is one of a series that covers introductory information about the essential concepts and practices to promote cultural competence in substance use prevention and treatment. Funding for this training is made possible through a grant from the Minnesota Department of Human Services.
- Participants will explore an introduction to the importance of cultural competence, develop self-awareness, and learn to recognize and address health disparities in substance use treatment and prevention.
Addressing Health Disparities in Substance Use Treatment and Prevention (2 hours)

Here is how the presentations are structured:
- Watch a video. The length of each video varies, but you are encouraged to watch it in one session. If you exit the video before watching it all the way through, the next time you sign, you’ll be brought back to the beginning and have to watch the entire video again.

- Take the Knowledge Check. Each presentation concludes with a series of questions to assess your understanding of the videos content. You must pass the Knowledge Check to obtain your Completion Certificate and CEUs. If you fail, press the Retry button to retake the Knowledge Check. You can Retry as many times as needed until you pass.
