The Minnesota Certification Board (MCB) is a non-profit agency dedicated to protecting the citizens of Minnesota by ensuring that certified professionals working in a wide range of professions are providing safe and competent services to the public. The Minnesota Certification Board is a member board of the International Certification and Reciprocity Consortium (IC&RC).
The MCB administers certifications forprofessionals in the areas of alcohol and drug counseling, co-occurring disorders, prevention, clinical supervision, and criminal justice.
The MCB administers the IC&RC (International Certification and Reciprocity Consortium) exams for all certifications that have an examination requirement. This includes the IC&RC alcohol and drug counselor exam that is accepted by the Board of Behavioral Health and Therapy (BBHT) to be used in meeting the Minnesota state testing requirement for the LADC license.
The MCB is also one of the testing locations for ISO Quality Testing.
The MCB has an endorsement process for workshops and conferences that guarantees the acceptance towards recertification.
